Authorized users have access to the KAUST Remote Applications service, which can be accessed using a workstation connected to KAUST network (LAN, Wi-Fi or VPN) or iPhone connected to KAUST Wi-Fi.

This page serves as a guide for end-users to help install, configure and use the 2X/Remote Applications Service for accessing KAUST published applications via a virtual desktop solution.

The access procedure varies depending on whether this workstation is a member of the KAUST domain or not.

When the workstation is a KAUST domain member running Windows or OS X, the 2X application is automatically installed and configured.

On other platforms however, such as Linux or iPhone or a non-KAUST Windows or OS X computer, the 2X application needs to be installed manually. You can download the application by visiting the 2X Application page on IT Intranet here, or from the 2X website.
