Pearson's Crystal Data is a crystallographic database published by ASM International (Materials Park, Ohio, USA), edited by Pierre Villars and Karin Cenzual. It has its roots in the well-known PAULING FILE project and contains crystal structures of a large variety of inorganic materials and compounds. The "PCD" (as it is typically abbreviated) is a collaboration between ASM International and Material Phases Data System, Vitznau, Switzerland (MPDS), aiming to create and maintain the world's largest critically evaluated "Non-organic database".
The database comes with an innovative retrieval software for Windows PCs developed by Crystal Impact. It offers a large variety of new elaborate new features which make retrieval of the desired information extremely easy and comfortable.

Trelis is a high-end, commercial-grade pre-processor for complex FEA and CFD simulation. It is based on the time-proven CUBIT™ software from Sandia National Laboratories. For more than two decades, csimsoft and Sandia have co-developed CUBIT to do Sandia's really challenging simulation. Molecular Modeling Pro has most of the advanced features available in expensive PC-based molecular modeling programs and more! It probably has the most physical property calculations from structure of any program sold for the PC.Molecules are easily constructed with your mouse and pull-down menus. GenVision is a genomic visualization software package that is fully integrated with Lasergene and is designed to support easy generation of publication quality graphics and maps. The package Wien2k allows to perform electronic structure calculations of solids using density functional theory (DFT). It is based on the full-potential (linearized) augmented plane-wave ((L)APW) + local orbitals (lo) method, one among the most accurate schemes for band structure calculations. Wien2k is an all-electron scheme including relativistic effects and has many features.

ParaView is an open-source, multi-platform data analysis and visualization application. ParaView users can quickly build visualizations to analyze their data using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The data exploration can be done interactively in 3D or programmatically using ParaView's batch processing capabilities.ParaView was developed to analyze extremely large datasets using distributed memory computing resources. It can be run on supercomputers to analyze datasets of terascale as well as on laptops for smaller data.
A fast, flexible system for detecting splice sites in the genomic DNA of various eukaryotes. The system has been trained and tested successfully on Plasmodium falciparum (malaria), Arabidopsis thaliana, human, Drosophila, and rice . Training data sets for human and Arabidopsis thaliana are included. The Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package (VASP) is a computer program for atomic scale materials modelling, e.g. electronic structure calculations and quantum-mechanical molecular dynamics, from first principles.VASP computes an approximate solution to the many-body Schrödinger equation, either within density functional theory (DFT), solving the Kohn-Sham equations, or within the Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation, solving the Roothaan equations. Hybrid functionals that mix the Hartree-Fock approach with density functional theory are implemented as well. Furthermore, Green's functions methods (GW quasiparticles, and ACFDT-RPA) and many-body perturbation theory (2nd-order Møller-Plesset) are available in VASP.
The Unarchiver is a much more capable replacement for "Archive Utility.app", the built-in archive unpacker program on Mac OS X. The Unarchiver is designed to handle many more formats than Archive Utility, and to better fit in with the design of the Finder. It can also handle filenames in foreign character sets, created with non-English versions of other operating systems. I personally find it useful for opening Japanese archives, but it should handle many other languages just as well.

MODFLOW is the name that has been given the USGS Modular Three-Dimensional Groundwater Flow Model. Because of its ability to simulate a wide variety of systems, its extensive publicly üsable documentation, and its rigorous USGS peer review, MODFLOW has become the worldwide standard groundwater flow model. MODFLOW is used to simulate systems for water supply, containment remediation and mine dewatering. When properly applied, MODFLOW is the recognized standard model used by courts, regulatory agencies, universities, consultants and industry.

Comsol Multiphysics (formerly FEMLAB) is a finite element analysis, solver and Simulation software / FEA Software package for various physics and engineering applications, especially coupled phenomena, or multiphysics. Comsol Multiphysics also offers an extensive interface to Matlab and its toolboxes for a large variety of programming, preprocessing and postprocessing possibilities. In addition to conventional physics-based user-interfaces, Comsol Multiphysics also allows for entering coupled systems of partial differential equations (PDEs).
FlexPDE is a "scripted finite element model builder and numerical solver". FlexPDE performs the operations necessary to turn a description of a partial differential equations system into a finite element model, solve the system, and present graphical and tabular output of the results. FlexPDE is also a "problem solving environment". It performs the entire range of functions necessary to solve partial differential equation systems: an editor for preparing scripts, a mesh generator for building finite element meshes, a finite element solver to find solutions, and a graphics system to plot results. The user can edit the script, run the problem and observe the output, then re-edit and re-run repeatedly without leaving the FlexPDE application environment.
The ARBuntu system installs a complete operative Kubuntu 9.04 Linux distribution (a Linux-based operating system and the K desktop environment 4.3 plus a full set of common applications including, e.g., OpenOffice and the Firefox web browser) as well as the software package ARB to your computer by just booting from the DVD. First, a so-called "live system" will be loaded virtually to your RAM without touching your harddisk (eüactly reflecting the system after installation) and afterwards an automatic installer will guide you through the simple installation procedure of ARBuntu which takes less than 30 minutes on a standard computer (you are only asked for some user-specific settings such as your language, your time-zone and your login data).

CoventorMP Overview
CoventorMP combines the complementary strengths of Coventor’s industry-leading software tools for MEMS design, CoventorWare® and MEMS+®, into a single powerful environment for MEMS design automation. The new platform provides a cohesive environment where designs can be entered once and used to create conventional finite element models (CoventorWare) and compact finite element models (MEMS+). The CoventorMP platform provides a unified environment for MEMS design, starting from fully parametric design entry to the production of functional models that can be simulated at all levels of abstraction. In essence, design data in CoventorMP will serve as a single “golden master” for all types of modeling, eliminating the need for time-consuming and error-prone manual transfer between different modeling environments. MEMS device models created in CoventorMP can be simulated with built-in solvers or automatically transferred into MATLAB, the Simulink system modeling environment, the Cadence Virtuoso circuit modeling environment, and SPICE simulators that support Verilog-A.

You can model and simulate any physics-based system using COMSOL®. The Amber software suite is divided into two parts: AmberTools, a collection of freely available programs mostly under the GPL license, and Amber14, which is centered around the sander and pmemd simulation programs, and which continues to be licensed as before, under a more restrictive license. The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD), is a repository for small molecule crystal structures. Scientists use single-crystal x-ray crystallography to determine the crystal structure of a compound. Once the structure is solved, information about the structure is saved in a file (CIF format) and deposited in the CSD. Other scientists can search and retrieve structures from the database.

Webots is a development environment used to model, program and simulate mobile robots. With Webots the user can design complex robotic setups, with one or several, similar or different robots, in a shared environment. The properties of each object, such as shape, color, texture, mass, friction, etc., are chosen by the user. A large choice of simulated sensors and actuators is available to equip each robot. The robot controllers can be programmed with the built-in IDE or with third party development environments. The robot behavior can be tested in physically realistic worlds. The controller programs can optionally be transferred to commercially available real robots.

Match! is an easy-to-use software for phase identification from powder diffraction data, which has become a daily task in material scientists work. Match! compares the powder diffraction pattern of your sample to a database containing reference patterns in order to identify the phases which are present. Single as well as multiple phases can be identified based on both peak data and raw (profile) data. As reference database, you can apply the included free-of-charge COD database and/or ICSD/Retrieve (if you have a valid licence), use any ICDD PDF product, and/or create a user database based on your own diffraction patterns. The user database patterns can be edited manually, imported from peak files, calculated from crystal structure data (e.g. CIF files), or imported from your colleague's user database.
